Fake Gold Alert!

It has come to our attention over the last few days that there are some unscrupulous people peddling fake gold rings and chains around the Moncton area. These people are usually parked at local gas stations, claiming to need gas to return home. Sadly, these people are preying on the kindness of Monctonians. These items are fakes.

In the past 3 days, we’ve had 3 of the exact same rings with 18kt and 750 markings come in from different customers who were victims of these scammers. All the gold was bogus. We also had 2 identical chains, stamped 14kt that were plated.

This is just a friendly reminder from Parlour Pawn folks, that as much as you want to help someone out, if the deal sounds too good to be true, it usually is! Don’t fall prey to these thieves. If you have questions or doubts about any gold you are buying privately please feel free to call our jewellery department. We are more than happy to provide information and advice.

Local Musicians

Local musicians have faithfully supported us for the past 30 years and we want to return the favour. Parlour Pawn will display and sell any album of any local artist or group free of charge. In other words we will sell your CD for the retail price and return all proceeds to you, the artist (excluding sales tax of course). No strings attached.

The artist must be from Moncton or the surrounding area. Please call or drop in for details.

Parlour Pawn is happy to announce that we are the exclusive dealers for Joyo pedals! The truth is, Joyo is the best deal for effects pedals on the market, and Parlour Pawn is excited to offer the complete line!

Most of what Joyo offers are direct copies of expensive, sought after boutique pedals. There was even a company, that was caught re-painting them, and selling them in their brand for $200. That wasn’t cool….Needless to say, they are no longer in business. The funny thing , people were still lining up to pay for them! Parlour Pawn customers will be happy to know we carry the whole line, most of them for the very fair price $49.95!.

I have friends that bring their 808′s, and OCD’s in to compare them. They all tell me the Joyo line are virtually the same sound quality for a fraction of the price! Reconnecting with a long lost love …

Recently we were happy to be able to reconnect a local music lover with a Capri Bass Guitar that he had stolen from him over 6 years ago! We are ecstatic that we are getting such positive feedback. This is what we do, and we are proud to be able to help people when the opportunity presents itself.

Dieppe Commandos Tickets

Earlier this year, Parlour Pawn helped supply the Dieppe Commandos with much needed sound equipment for their home arena. At the time, we were given several complimentary game tickets for season games. Being there is only 3 home season games left, thought we could share these with our Parlour Pawn web followers.

The 3 games left are:

Sunday, Feb 24th, 2:30 p.m. vs. Campbellton
Sunday, Mar 3rd, 2:30 p.m. vs Miramichi
Tuesday , Mar 5th, 7:30 p.m. vs Woodstock

All these games will be played at the Centre Arthur-J-LeBlanc Arena, 432 Melanson Rd, Dieppe.

Parlour Pawn’s store manager, Bill Daigle is pleased to share with everyone his recent achievement. He has just been selected for his 2nd 2 year term as the Atlantic Director of the Canadian Association of Rocketry.

Active in his hobby since his early teens, Bill is one of the lead organizers in all the rocket launches in the Maritime Provinces, including all NB Rocketry launches at their Petitcodiac home field, and the annual Rage at the Gage invitational launch, held at CFB Gagetown every fall, which draws extreme rocketry flyers from all across Canada, as well as Eastern U.S.

He is also the Secretary-Treasurer of NB Rocketry, a group of enthusiasts from Moncton area, Fredericton, ans Saint John, as well as several Nova Scotia members.
